Tech Coalition Human Rights Impact Assessment of the Lantern Program (November 2023). The Tech Coalition commissioned BSR to undertake a human rights impact assessment of the Lantern Program, a new signal sharing initiative that will enable technology companies to send and receive signals related to online child sexual exploitation and abuse.

Twitch Human Rights Impact Assessment (April 2023). Twitch partnered with BSR's and Amazon’s central human rights team to undertake a human rights assessment of Twitch.

Human Rights Due Diligence of Meta’s Impacts in Israel and Palestine (September 2022). This human rights due diligence exercise reviews the impact of Meta’s policies and activities during the May 2021 crisis in Israel and Palestine.

A Human Rights Assessment of Meta’s Expansion of End-to-End Encryption (April 2022). Meta commissioned BSR to undertake a human rights assessment of extending end-to-end encryption across Meta’s messaging services.

Input to the High Commissioner Report on the Practical Application of the UNGPs to the Activities of Technology Companies (February 2022). This submission draws upon BSR’s experience working with technology companies on human rights issues for the prior two decades, so provides an excellent overview.

Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism (GIFCT) Human Rights Impact Assessment (July 2021). GIFCT commissioned BSR to conduct a human rights assessment of its strategy, governance, and activities.

The Shared Opportunity to Promote: A Second-Decade Priority for the UNGPs (June 2021). This paper draws upon BSR experience over the past decade to propose a framework for the shared promotion of human rights.

Science: A Human Right for Our Times (April 2021). This BSR primer describes how companies can meet their responsibility to respect the right to science, as well as opportunities to promote the enjoyment, fulfillment, and realization of this right.

A Human Rights-Based Approach to Content Governance (March 2021). This BSR paper sets out a four-part approach to human rights and content governance, based on a combination of the UNGPs and the various human rights principles, standards, and methodologies upon which the UNGPs were built.

Human Rights Review of the Facebook Oversight Board (December 2019). Meta asked BSR to conduct a human rights review to inform the governance and operations of the Oversight Board such that it is consistent with human rights-based approaches, principles, standards, and methodologies.

Responsible Use of Technology (September 2019). BSR partnered with the World Economic Forum (WEF) to offer a framework for the responsible use of disruptive technologies.

Google Celebrity Recognition API Human Rights Assessment (October 2019). Google commissioned BSR to undertake a human rights assessment of facial recognition in the Media and Entertainment (M&E) industry and inform the development of a celebrity recognition application program interface (API).

Redefining Sustainable Business (January 2018). This report presents BSR’s view of how companies can transform their strategies, governance, and management so that they are fit for a disruptive world.
